About
Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, at the foot of Western Europe's highest peak, welcomes skiers, mountaineers and travellers from around the world. The valley is home to the Aiguille du Midi cable car, the Mer de Glace and three interconnected ski areas: Grands Montets, Brévent-Flégère and Les Houches.
The route
From Geneva we take the A40 motorway to Sallanches, then follow the Arve valley. The route does not use the Mont-Blanc tunnel. Average journey time is 75 minutes outside peak weekend traffic.
When to book
Ideal for ski stays from December to April, summer alpine ascents, access to the Aiguille du Midi cable car or a seminar at the Grand Hôtel des Alpes. Snow chains and roof box available on request.
