Geneva to Courchevel Transfer: Route, Travel Time and Tips

Courchevel, at the heart of Les 3 Vallées — the world's largest linked ski area — is one of the most sought-after resorts in the French Alps. Access from Geneva is mostly motorway, with a final climb up the Tarentaise. Here is the route, the real travel time, and what to know about the resort's different levels.

The Geneva — Courchevel route

From Geneva Airport, you take the motorway towards Annecy and Chambéry, then the A43 and A430 to Albertville. From there, the Tarentaise road (N90) climbs the valley to Moûtiers, the gateway to the major resorts. The final climb leads to Courchevel's different levels.

Total distance: ≈ 200 km, mostly motorway to Albertville, then valley and mountain road.

How long does it take?

Allow about 2h30 outside traffic. On changeover Saturdays in high season, the Tarentaise and the final climb can add significantly to the journey — plan a margin.

The levels of Courchevel

Courchevel is spread across several villages: Le Praz (1300), Courchevel Village (1550), Moriond (1650) and Courchevel 1850. Give the level and the exact address of your chalet or hotel when booking — it avoids detours on the mountain road.

Winter and luggage tips

  • Our vehicle has winter tyres with chains on board for the final climb.
  • The Mercedes Vito extra-long carries skis, snowboards and luggage for the whole group (up to 7 people).
