The Geneva — Verbier route
From Geneva Airport, the route follows the Valais: the A9 motorway along Lake Geneva (Lausanne, Montreux), then the Rhône valley to Martigny. You leave the motorway to head up the Val de Bagnes to Le Châble, then the switchback mountain road that climbs to Verbier.
Total distance: ≈ 164 km, almost all motorway to Martigny, with the final ~15 km on mountain road.
How long does it take?
Allow about 1h50 outside traffic. It is one of the quickest major resorts to reach from Geneva. In high season, the final climb can be slower on changeover Saturdays.
Summer and winter
- Winter: Verbier opens the 4 Vallées (Nendaz, Veysonnaz, La Tzoumaz) — a huge ski area. Our vehicle carries winter tyres and chains for the final climb.
- Summer: hiking, mountain biking (bike park), and the Verbier Festival of classical music in July draw an international crowd. A private transfer remains the easiest way up with luggage and gear.
